http://slickdeals.net/f/4119995-Sam...A-349-98-Target-YMMV?token=AAIFAwAAAAAFOz7duw

I called and theres one available in target about 10 miles away from me. Im tempted to just go pick it up.

Ill be hooking it up to a computer, so im pretty sure this would be a better idea than getting a 1024x768 tv that has wide pixels. (the res on this screen is 1360x768)

Ive been waiting on a really good deal on a TV (wanted 56 or 60, but this is big enough) and i think this looks good enough to jump on.

Any feedback would help!!!!

Wow, great deal if you can get one. Specs look the same as the TV I helped my MIL buy last fall and that set looks great.

I have a 51 samsung plasma 1080p in my office. Its hot and the screen has a ton of glare. If you can get over those two things they are darn near untouchable in picture quality for less than 1500 bucks.

Went over to Target to see this display; they only had the floor model left, which I could have gotten for an additional 10% off. Catch was, no return, no box. All the goodies it came with (?) were intact. As noted above, mucho glare, and if I'm going to watch a 50+" set in my living room, it's gonna have to be 1080p with a matte finish. Good deal, but not good enough.

Glare is a bit skewed when viewing in store given Target is lit up like a roman candle. Any decent TV retailer keeps the showroom rather dim so you can get an accurate idea of the PQ.

Just my $0.02

Yes, that is true. All the store lighting does not help simulate an in-home environment. Still, my LR is well lit by day, and I can see that screen finish being a problem. That, and I just couldn't see myself shoving the thing in my back seat and then schleping it into the house, crying, "Honey, look what I got!" I need Best Buy to bring me a new 1080p display and take away my huge, ancient, 280lb. Sony WEGA. One day....

I had one of those. People never believe how heavy it is when i explain it to them. When they see and feel it in person they understand.

Was so happy to not own that thing anymore knowing id never have to move it again.

One of my cousins has/had a 40" direct-view Mitsubishi from many years ago. I'm happy to never have been involved in moving that behemoth!

I would have been looking into snagging one of these from my local Target as well, but fortunately for my wallet, they were OOS. There have been reports of people getting a few different models/sizes when they went looking for this TV at their local Target.

Problem with this kind of TV is, it's probably too big for a den or BR, and most of us would want 1080p in the LR or our home theater/movie room. I am lusting for a 52" backlit 1080p LCD in my LR, but spousal approval is not forthcoming. It took me a better part of a year to get her to Circuit City (remember them?) to even look at the WEGA. Took us 18 mos. to pay off the TV and the sizable cabinet it's in, both of which are desperate need of replacement. Sigh...

depends how far away the TV is. Unless its a massive TV and the room is smaller, then you need 1080p. My living room is pretty big, so chances are i wont be able to notice the difference between 1080p and 720p. Not to mention who actually shows 1080p content? 360 is 720p, and im almost positive comcast probably doesnt sent out too much 1080p. We dont watch blu-ray.
