I'm interested in getting it to replace my old old ATI Radeon AIW. This is the really old AIW with 32DDR.
I'll be using the MSI 9550 to run my monitor at 1600x1200 on dvi. I also want it because it has a passive heatsink. The AIW fan is starting to get to me.
Also, it's a bit of an upgrade for me. A cheap one. I don't really play games. I turn on counterstrike once in a while, but even the AIW could handle that. Doubt the 9550 would have any troubles with it.
Anybody have this particular card? Any options? Other sub $80 suggestions?
The ability to go without a heatsink fan is important. I'm trying to cut down on noise from the pc. I already swapped out all the case and psu fans to panaflo. If I turn off all the case fans, I can still hear the AIW fans..
edit: I figured I wasn't going to get much comments for this old card. So you can suggest others. BUT remember I don't really game much. I wouldn't mind a better card, but it needs to be quiet if not complete silent. I was looking into the 6600GT over the summer.
Also, it needs to drive 1600x1200 cleanly. I noticed that the online video does a horrible job compared to the AIW.
