What do you think of the current (8ms) Dell 1905FP?

I am more inteested in picture quality for dvds, HDTV (ATI HDTV Wonder) than gaming performance.

(my dad has a Dell 1905 with the Samsung ( 20 ms?) panel in it)

What 8ms 1905FP, you mean the E196FP? The E196FP is 8ms, but it doesn't have DVI and is 6-bit. If you're not a gamer, definitely go for the 8-bit 1905FP. Even if you were a gamer, the E196FP isn't very good since there's no DVI.

I use three of them at work, as well as a 1906 (I think it's exactly the same panel but it's base is an integrated stand for a SFF GX620/520). Haven't had any problems with them like I did my 1703s (color was off between the two monitors). DVDs play fine on them, but I've never really used them for DVD/HDTV/Gaming as their attached to pcs at work.
