And you want to throw the Bible in the dumpster? Pity your Catholic and not a Christian.
Listen you: I also have common sense and not blind faith. I know when to ignore the bible and when not to.

The bible isn't the be all and end all of christianity. Blind faith is worse than no faith at all, so said my priest.

I believe in some type of apocalyptic event, but I'm not sure that it will play out exactly as written in the Bible. Many peoples and religions around the world have end-times scenarios with alot of similarities.

I think right now, we're going through a "testing time". While I'm a Christian, I've had dreams of things I don't yet understand. Things which don't seem to go along with Christian teachings, but were shown to me through dreams. Some of them involved climate change and rising water. In others I was shown alot of environmental damage (like smokestacks) and the disapproval of that and the disapproval of using so many chemicals. Others had to do with maybe a comet or asteroid hitting the earth and a group of celestial "stars" asking me if I thought it might be time to which in my dream I said we needed another chance.

I do know since 1998, something's been going on. Things are on the verge of changing or changes have already begun (in relation to the Iraq war). More changes will be coming and next year will be particularly challenging.

If anything, now is the time to make positive changes in your life. Try and spread love throughout the world instead of hate. Forgive. Encourage peace. Be a giver instead of a taker. Try to live by an honest moral code and be the best person you can be.

I'm not a religious nut, but thanks just the same.
I keep a close watch on all things that intrest me.
I do not like where this mess is headed, and Apocalypse comes to mind.
Does it bother you that 80 % of the world is protesting the U.S. action ?
Does it bother you that the United States - for the first time in history is invading a country ?
Does it bother you that this is nothing more than a personal revenge by Dubya for his Ego ?
Does it bother you that the constantly repeated lines parallel what Hitler used in WW II ?
This one is funny. I can name at least one occasion they did this.

There was an interesting thing I saw on TV
They had rats in a box at first when there was only a few rats so they kept adding rats making sure there was plenty of food and water so it wasn't a scarce resource issue.
Tthey more rats they added the more fighting and eventual killing got worse.
Planet Earth is going to be bout 11 billion by 2040
Mull that over 😉

That is caused by the stress of close proximity. This has been documented as far back as the early 70's. Its one of the problems of too much population density. Even when there are plenty of resources, there exists a psychological limit to population density.

That is actually known as the Malthusian Final Solution, a theory and experiment first presented by Dr. Thomas Malthus (1766-1834).

I know
Humans are going to get 'approximate' soon was the point
Just giving the doom and gloomers something to worry about

I'm waiting for you to list all the 'Other' times the U.S. actually invaded another country.
You say you can name them, come on an do it.

In 1812 The US invaded Canada (actually Upper and Lower Canada)

During the war of independence the US tried an invasion of Upper Canada. They stopped at the border for fear of massive Brithish forces might exist there.

Like all things the world will end one day, the sun will expand and encompass the Earth before collapsing back in on itself and all life will be extuinguished. This is inevitable, as is the end of all things by nature's example. As far as it relates to Christianity, the book of Revelation is a somewhat interesting read if you take it metaphorically it can be applied to many situations around the world today. Perhaps that was the author's intent, perhaps it is coincidence. Either way if you don't believe it I don't see the use in raining on other people's parade unless you are afraid yourself.

1. 1898 Cuba

2. 1983 Grenada

3. 2001 Afghanistan

4. 1989 Panama

just a few that come to mind... 🙂

W mentioned this fact at a press conference

His daddy was also a President of the United States. Would you say it was personal if another President was doing it?

Just helping KCV whatever make a corrolation
"How on earth does this relate to his ego? The first conflict in the Gulf had nothing to do with him. He wasn't even involved in politics at the time (Ann Richards was Texas governor at the time). If this were purely a move for the sake of vengeance, I seriously doubt that it would have taken this long. "

For some reason he can make a connection between the two. I didn't deny the connection he did. I don't deny he might have some justification or personal motivation.

Do you think it will happen as described in the Christian Bible?
If not the Christian Bibles prophecy, how will it happen?
When might it happen?
Are the events unfolding today a sign of it?

It is coming soon! The end is nigh! Sell me your house for a dollar!

How about just throwing the bible into the nearest dumpster and try thinking logically instead?
How about you don't insult someone's religious faith? And how about you read it before you knock it? As for logic, is it not illogical to dismiss or disparage something without research it?
Personally, I have no opinion either way. Wait and see, it might happen, it might not. But I sure as hell am sick of all the religious bigotry on this board.

I read it. I studied it. I went to church every sunday religiously for 18 years. My kids go on sunday and to bible study on wednesday.

It isn't bigotry if it is true.

Did you say 'Apocalypse' ?
Looks like it's starting right now with what's going on in Iraq.
Anyone read the Revelations 9 in the Bible and cut through the symbolism ?
