What do you think of Ron Conway: behind Ask, Google, Paypal and others?

im curious as to his connection to google. I heard an interview with the founder of google
who i believe was a korean-american, and it went sort of like this
" I WAS IN THE POST-DOCTORAL program at _____[i forget the school] and looking for a project. i started google with 3 programs and it has since grown to use 20
proprietary technologies...."
so what was ron conways role there?

he is an angel investor of seed companies, thats about all i know. he backed 200 internet start ups with say 25-100k each. so I wondered whether he was sucessful and if so whether it was skill or bull market buckshot techniques. the site is svangle.com

Hmm I don't know much about him. He either saw the opertunity to take advantage of many people, got lucky (that is if he got out in time), or he just had money to burn.

I know there is a book about him.
