What do you think of oyster mushrooms?

I've read up a bit on edible mushroom cultivation and it seems rather fun, and good tasting to boot. 😎
What do you guys think about the oyster family of edibles? Specifically the pearl oyster, which is what a friend of mine is helping me with...
Anybody know of good recipes to cook these things up?

I like oysters (raw and steamed), and mushrooms (raw and cooked), but I have never had an oyster mushroom...😕

Oyster mushrooms! They are named oyster mushrooms because they grow shaped like an oyster, and some people say the taste is similar.

I've made this a few times:

POTATO, LEEK, GRUYERE AND OYSTER MUSHROOM GRATIN

Remove any woody parts. Sautee in clarified butter with a little salt. Serve em up just like that.

They're good but I like Chantrelles the best, although they're not generally cultivated.

the oysters/ clam/ mussels will not open unless they are alive before they are steamed, if dead, they wont open, thus why you arent suposed to eat closed ones
