i signed up for a 2 year 'all you can eat' program.. sure i took the classes.. sure i got my certs.. sure they paid for them.. but i would never do it again.

i would suggest you study on your own and take the tests. their teachers are either stupid, arrogant, or both (atleast mine were). some just read out of the MoC. The account executives are about as trustworthy as a car salesman, and want your money as bad.

but hey, that's just my experience..

But what are you trying to say? Your almost contradicting yourself there ...you took all the classes and got your certs but you'd never do it again? Maybe you didn't want to do it to begin with? And what do you mean 'they' paid for them ...?

yeah, i just sat in the classes all in a row then studied and took the tests on my own, it was a waste of money IMO.. i was just saying they 'do' what they tell you they'll do..

also, they won't help you get a job no matter what they tell you

agreed, the job placement at all the New Horizons I have experience with have NO job placement. they are required by law to have some, so they do the minimum but they don't do it actively.

They are a good time-killer when your company sends you to them for training.

I personally don't think they do much good, but it's better than attempting to teach yourself, depending on the topic.

They let me take a class for free once, and it was ok. The teacher knew just about a fraction more than me. It was worth it for what I paid (nothing), but I wouldn't pay what they normally ask (a lot).

My very first REAL computer job was working at New Horizons. I was just turning 18 when I got the job.

I was a Sysadmin in the mornings, and I taught A+ at night.

PM me if you want the low down.

My employer is sending me for their Microsoft Security course. Should be a nice trip down to Chicago, but it seems that they may not teach me much.

Was considering pursuing more of their courses, but I may not, now.

Seriously people.

IF you want to go in order to LEARN save your money and go to a community college. most of them offer networking courses nowadays.

IF your looking to get Certified, GO to a BOOT camp. Save yourself MONTHS of attending classes daily and being bored out of your mind.

In my opinion, New Horizons claims to do both, Hands on Training and Exam prep, my experience is, they do neither well.
