Why so many pictures of the water? I would have liked to see more open scenery shots.

I have a bunch of scenery shots- maybe 100 (but that means like 20 good ones) but these were all special shots...they were shot around midnight and were a pain in the ass to shoot, but the long exposures and the lighting from the moon made some cool effects. I can upload the regular stuff too, but these are the ones that I found to be interesting and were looking for more opinons on...i'll get the others up for you.

EDIT- Ok, here you go DayLaPaul- but once again, these haven't been touched up yet so the colors and levels aren't ideal, but you should still get some nice views of the landscape and foilage.

They are nice. I don't think they need enhancing.

It was a Canon Digital Rebel (300D). The lens was a canon 50mm f/1.8. They were pretty much all 20 second exposures @100ISo

Those are awesome pics. I'll have to try night landscapes when I get my Minolta A1 back from being repaired-- the CCD gave out and turned purple. It did that RIGHT WHEN I GOT TO ZION by the way. So I have zero pictures of Zion.

WOW. Now we're talking! That's freaking beautiful. I don't know why it is, but on a whole, I seem to like the vertical pictures a lot more than the horizontal ones. It seems like you are able to capture a lot of extra stuff when you shoot up and down that you just don't get when shooting side to side. But they're all very nice. Pic #1 is my favorite. Bravo!

whoa...you exposed the picture for 20 seconds in broad daylight? Did you use a tripod? I don't know much about photograph although I like to learn, but I'm amazed that a 20 second exposure on is iso1-- didn't over expose (it would just appear to be bright white on my cancon a75...)

Yes, that is exactly right. Sorry if I didn't mention it before...these were all taken around midnight on a very clear night. There was a full moon that allowed me to get the light on the water.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments!

Zion as in Zion National Park in Southern Utah, right? I live like 40 minutes from there in Saint George, Utah. Are you a Utahn, too? The pictures look great, btw :)

Yes, it was in Zion National Park, just down the road from St. George. I'm not a Utahn- we drove in from L.A., but Utah is a beautiful state.
