The reason it's a problem is more then just the flag, it's an attitude.

1. They expect America to accommodate them in their language.

2. They refuse to learn or speak English.

3. They put down America and complain about everything being racist.

4. America is a melting pot, what happens when people stop melting, when they want all governmental forms in their language and then roadway signs and then who knows what else. It's bad enough walking into a store and trying to get help from someone that does not speak English, which begs the question of why they where hired.

5. In some states they are trying or have succeeded in passing laws that you need to speak more the English in order to hold office.

 Way to generalize. Maybe those who are complaining about racism actually encountered it? Also, you have a right to want anything you want. It's the governments and businesses that decide whether to accommodate or not accommodate it or not. A lot of immigrants can't even vote, and those who do need to know not only English, but US government basics, and be here for a while to become citizen. So if any of this pandering to immigrant happens it's because US citizens vote to do or allow it.

Most of the people that come from other countries are VERY happy to be here in the US. They just fly their flag to show how proud they are of their culture. It's not a big fvcking thing. They are not anti-US. Now, flying the US flag upside down, there's a problem and yes, that would piss me off. But hey, freedom of speech is one of the things that makes the US great.

Now onto other irritating things people put on their cars...How about those stupid fvcking fish symbols. Talk about annoying the sh!t out of me.

When people say America, MOST people do assume they are talking about the USA. But you're right, there are alot of countries in America. 😉

we don't assume he was talking about the american flag. we just interjected that in one of the first posts.

so, you're wrong.

When in Rome do as the Romans do.

Why does that saying work for every country except the USA? Oh, because the USA is a complete pushover when it comes to immigrants. If you go to another country, you abide by their rules and their culture. Hence, don't fly another fly in that country... that's rude and disrespectful.

OP never onced mentioned American flag until someone else did. I just find it funny, and it happens all the time. 😛

Wrong I am not!

depends on the time and place.
If I'm celebrating an old country holiday (i.e. their indepence day) then I'll put all the flags I want
On July 4 if I decorate my yard with non-US flags it would be didsrespectful

I've seen plently of flags from different countries being flown in other countries😕 Though I have to add that the US seems to have a huge flag flying fetish, nowhere else have I seen so many people with flags on their cars, in front of their houses, in car dealerships, in parks, everywhere.

I mean they complain that every other American not learning their language is racist. In the last 10 years it has gotten worse. Immigrants use to come to America and would grateful to be here and work real hard to be citizens. Now they come here and bring all the stuff from home and want America to change it's ways and customs to fit them.

Feel free. But if there is a US flag on the same pole it better be on top. It is illegal for it to be under another flag in the US.

I don't care about the flags, what really pisses me off is when they don't learn English.

No they don't. I haven't met one immigrant who has said that, so you are generalizing. Certainly no more than Americans who travel overseas also expect everyone there to speak English.

Always been the case. Immigrants very often initially settle in areas with high concentration of their own culture, and then slowly integrate over years and generations. People don't magically change their culture when they come off the airplane. And as long as they obey American laws, there is no reason why they should not be living as they want to in America. There are no American "ways and customs." American way is for people to work hard, live free and obey the law. If Indians want to arrange their kids marriages or Mexicans want to speak in Spanish, that is just as American as eating apple pie and hot dogs.

People are welcome to fly whatever flag they want in NZ. You don't know anything about other countries. And it's not rude or disrespectful at all to be proud of your heritage.

Over here it is very common to see flags from other South Pacific nations, especially the islands. No one considers it rude, and in fact it adds a lot of character to the country to see Islanders touting their proud heritage. If I were to ever move to another country I would be extremely proud to show people my Kiwi heritage. I'm not into flying flags, but I would definately wear New Zealand T-shirts, cheer on NZ rugby teams and would take every opportunity to show people where I'm from. I couldn't be more proud of my country, that doesn't mean I don't respect other cultures.
