To those of you who have installed IE9, what do you think of it? I have not used it yet, but I am considering trying it out.

Quite a huge improvement, and it's a Lot faster! I like it but i doubt it will be my primary browser.

If you end up installing IE9 beta, please do share your first impressions. I would love to hear what you think.

I like that it's centrally EVERYTHING [manageable/enforceable/auditable/deployable], always one of IE's ace cards. I don't like the current blank-screen bug where the page is there, but won't show until I pick another tab and come back... but I'm sure that'll be fixed.

There's also a bug with Flash Player 10.1 and 10.2beta and IE9. If Software Restriction Policy is applied to all files including DLLs, as shown at http://www.mechbgon.com/srp, then IE9 will crash over and over when visiting sites such as Newegg.com. This is serious, we're talking about NEWEGG here ;) so Jason, can you guys rattle Adobe's cage on this? I submitted a bug report but I doubt they listen to anything short of catastrophe.

BTW the bug also affects IE8 with Flash Player 10.1 and later on Vista and 7.

It is a lot faster than Internet Explorer 8 easily but I will never use it as my default browser. The only reason I have IE installed is because I have to. :( There is no real way to uninstall Internet Explorer sense so many window things and some programs depend on it unfortunately. Have removed it before but not sure if it is a good idea to. They always say it is important to keep IE updated even if you don't use it.

1. I don't like that you still can't customize it.

2. No spell checker come on Microsoft every browser out there now has one built in.

3. Add-ons still suck.

I do like the way you can drag any tabs to the right or the left of another one and still see it. Even videos! That is a neat feature! Of course it is very stable and I can rapidly open zillions of tabs without it ever freezing while using another tab at the same time! So it has good sides but without some key features it is no better than Internet Explorer has ever been. Except with a lot faster browsing speed.

I don't like that the address bar and tabs are on the same bar, or that the address bar is also the search bar. I didn't like chrome since it doesn't have a good bookmark side panel, so FF it is.

I prefer Opera because it is a powerhorse! The only problem is hardly any addons yet and not as much customizing as Firefox sadly. Hopefully in a few months maybe but most likely years Opera will be easier to switch to!

One thing Opera has for it is the speed the team can release new version after another. I will almost guarantee everyone here that the Final version of Opera 11 will be easily released before Firefox 4. Not that it really matters because I prefer Mozilla to take their time with each release if they have to. I just don't know how Opera does it with such fast releases. They must either really push themselves or they have a lot of help.

If I had to put in order the speed of each browser can release updates Opera would be #2 the list would look like something like this.

Speed that each browser releases new versions (Not that it really matters)

1. Chrome
2. Opera
3. Firefox
4. Internet Explorer

Though compared to Chrome, Opera releases updates with a lot of extra new features compared to Chrome but there not as quick of course but that is the only reason why. Some companies seem to like to release small changes with a new version every time and others wait a little longer with bigger changes but still work quick, ala Opera. I am surprised Opera 11 went from Alpha to Beta. Was not expecting that.

I hate that ever since MS introduced tabs to IE (v7 I think?), they've failed to implement decent tab/session management. I want the option for tab auto-save/restore.

Firefox, Opera and Chrome have all had this available for as long as I can remember.

Does it have a spell check and adblock plus like extension (with an updated black list)? If not for Google integrating Acrobat Reader, Flash and Google Account synchronization, I would likely be open to switching if it had those two previously mentioned features.

I'll switch to it as soon as it is out of Beta.

RC seems faster to me. Let me amend that, lot's faster. The Tracking option looks good also. **** Google. So far it seems as fast as FireFox with adblock and no-script.

Does it fix the issues the beta created with the event viewer? As worthless as the event viewer can be, it was incredibly annoying to not be able to close it.

What exactly was the issue? I have not installed IE9 until today. I opened up event viewer and was able to close it. Not sure if that helps you though.

Its great only one problem.

The tabs start in the middle of the screen. Barely allowing you to open couple tabs. The address bar is in front of it.

Im sure people have complained to MS. Hopefully final version the tabs will start at top left like other browsers and not in middle of screen. Well see,, barely gives you room for tabs,, horrible !!!

Yeah, I'm not sure why they have it that way. I just selected the option to show the tabs on a separate row.

Is there a way for your tabs from the last session to be opened when you start IE? I know I can go to Reopen last browsing session, but I was hoping there was a way around this. It's one thing that has always drove me nuts about IE.

First awesome thing is that it didn't have to reboot the pc after installation!!! they're finally improving that!!

i tested netflix and for some reason it doesn't detect silverlight as being installed even though it is! strange!!

Were you running Beta? I had IE8 and I needed to restart my computer.

Is Silverlight enabled in your add-ons? That is strange though.

That was the issue. If you opened event viewer and looked at some event details, after closing everything out and trying to exit event viewer it would complain that a module (or something like that) was still open and would not close. I'd have to kill the process from the task manager.

It does seem to have fixed that stupid issue. :)

I had the beta, installed the RC...still had to restart though. :\

Right click on menu bar, select show tabs in a seperate row.

how do I fix the horrible text? there is no option for not using clear type like there was in IE8. I googled it and there are plenty of complaints but I see no definitive answer.
