except they don't blow up as easily as powmax.

I've had a hipro in my spare compaq that i bought 2 years ago, and it's been running fine since the day i bought it.

They are used a ton in OEMs like HP, etc.

I'm not sure i'd say they're my first choice, but they aren't likely as bad as some.

Just keep in mind that PSU will not power any modern video card if that's in your plans.

You want 20A+ on the 12V rail for newer video cards at least.

A hamster wheel and a dynamo should suffice for that.

(Or a single rail PSU with 20A on the 12V rail, any more won't hurt but it won't benifit you in any way either)

N7 was saying that I need a 20+ on the 12V rail for newer video cards.

You're basically saying the same thing. Will the Hipro psu I mentioned above work?

No it won't, or at least i wouldn't trust it to.

http://www.hipro-us.com/ATX.htm

16A on the 12V rail, probably enough to run the computer but not with much comfort blanket. The 400W one is borderline, but sticking almost as much on the 5V rail (160W) as the 12V rail (184W) is not a good sign.

Suppose i did just restate n7's advice didn't i?

Thanks alot for not showing a profile because you will say my recommendation can't be
had in Turkmenistan or Outer Mongolia=time waster. ;)

Buy this, http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E1136FA
Find the specs yourself at http://www.enhanceusa.com/ > desktop PSUs. The specs are
not a lie like some providers list. Enhance is a top name but will not advertise.

PM Zap because he bought two several months ago and they are in gaming machines.
He is an Elite on this board and will not lie to you. Ask him how they are doing.
He posted nekked pics of one over at badcaps.net in the appropriate forum. Look for it
if it holds your interest.
Note: Hipoop does not hold my interest so I won't even research it.
