What do you think,Is it Right or Wrong?do you believe in an eye for an eye, or forgiveness? Or should people that commit Capitol Offenses should be given Life Imprisonment?

I dont think anyone should be killed until the whole justice system is restructured, and the people that make it run are free from human flaws.

I don't know, I haven't put much though into it personally. However, I've got a friend in Europe who asked me how I could live in a country that's government kills... I just shrugged my shoulders, and said "Easy, I was born here..."

I agree. Imprisonment for life feels almost as bad as capital punishment. It should be abolished, IMO. I think I heard it in the news that one man was almost executed when the DNA analysis reveled he had nothing to do with the case, just like he claimed.

capital punishment still seems barbaric but it's a way to satisfy the sense of revenge. I wasn't affected by Tim McVeigh but the victims and their families should choose whether he dies or otherwise, not the government.

speaking of revenge, I don't know about Europeans but I was talking to some aussie the other day and we talked about capital punishment. She actually said keeping the criminal alive and torture him/her is a better revenge... Something to think about. I can understand why people wanted Tim McVeigh to die and I have no sympathy for him either. It's a weird issue.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Some people just need to be fried.

<Emily Latella voice on> I think that if D.C misbehaves, it should pay the price. Same for Albany, Atlanta, and Annapolis. I mean, after all, they ARE the capitols and they should be good examples! <Emily Latella voice off>

:D ;)

It's hard to believe that people do not accept the simple and common sense social (and personal) necessity of being accountable for your actions.

Im from Texas, that pretty much answers your question doesnt it? ;)

Seriously though I don't see anything wrong if it can be proven beyond a shadow of doubt. I dont remember but it takes a huge sum of money to keep somebody in prison their whole life and not nearly that much to pay for the injections to kill a death row inmate.

It cost more to kill them, than to keep them.
Legal bills and appeals in death sentence cases out way the cost of locking them up for life.
This is true in Texas.

actually your wrong, it costs more to execute someone:p all the shadow of a doubt costs a lot you know. and we don't even have that really yet. after all, if your dead already, chances are no ones going to find out if you were innocnent anyways.

so if its a waste of money and human error still rears its ugly head, why bother taking the chance. if you believe god will punish them in the after life, why the rush:p its pure vengence.

It's been bugging me... What's more painful -- to die or to be imprisoned for life? What hurts more?

How could someone say they'd rather have a guy who raped and killed a 10 year old girl sit in jail for the rest of his life as opposed to being executed? It's pretty simple when you look at it from a broad pov.

Good, at least that part is settled.

Personally, I'm for it. I also feel that if for any reason I was ever in that situation, I would much rather be put to death than die slowly in prison having no freedom and no life anyway. The fact remains though that it does cost more to kill them...............but seriously, that stands to reason since they basicly go through at least 3 trials not to mention mandatory appeals. That needs to be looked at...............I'll stand by my belief though that if someone committs a crime terrible enough to warrant execution, they should and basicly have said they are willing to die themselves.............

Some people feel that killing someone is wrong no matter what the circumstances. What is the difference between a man killing a girl adn a fat pig(cop) killing that man? It is no different IMO. If they have to kill people who murder then the excecuter should also be excecuted and so on and so on.

Ok I did a little research and found out I was wrong but not totally, It does cost less to execute somebody that keep them imprisioned for life. But all teh appeals etc add up. We need to reform this badly if it costs 2.3 mil to execute a single inmate. http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/costs2.html

does executing him bring back the girl? apparently not.

I'd rather have him getting a$$ raped in jail everyday. that's a better punishment IMO
