I have been seriously considering getting one of these. The price obviously isnt the issue, I am just not sure about copying someone's idea like that. What do you guys think?

i feel the same way, donate if you want to donate but there no need to show off the fact that you donated

They're called awareness bracelets for a reason.

How would someone know if and/or how much you donated? It's not even the point.

I donate plenty, the $5 wont do much anyways. I wouldnt mind bringing more awareness though. That and a lot of diabetics hide it, or are ashamed for some reason. I work with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and I think this might be a good ice breaker to get people to talk. (I basically help newly diagnosed parents deal with the changes. Its also my job to try to recruit people for my local chapter.)

i dont like the idea of getting a bracelet for donating, which it seems like a reason a lot of the lance armstrong ones are being worn...like look at me i donated..

but just for the knowedge its all good, i would rather just talk to people then wear a bracelet though...i work in spinal cord injury and i would never wear a spinal cords dont heal themselves wristband, but I will def. talk to anyone who I think would be interested in it

I think the whole awareness excuse is total bull. Its the new fad, and this is getting ridiculous. Its going to get to a point where people are expecting to recieve something in return for every donation, which is totally retarded because its a donation. If your're so concerned about that cause why don't you donate time and money to it instead of spending $5 on a braclet, showing it off and making pretend you care.

If you bought and wore the awarness band, people would ask what it is for. Then you can inform them about spinal cords. :)

I don't like the idea of "look at me! I donated" either, but since you do know about spinal cords, you can have a conversation with people.

Everyone know what they are now and its not a conversation stopper anymore. I will buy one that is blue and says "Stupidity is a disease". Thats what requires awareness.

Hey Jules Maximus...you joined up one day after me in 2003!!!! What are the odds of two posts being next to each other that joined virtually the same day?
