As for unappreciated states...hmm...Vermont. VERY pretty, but because of the winter no one goes there. Seems like it would be a great place to have a cabin and just get away from it all for a year.
if you're asking about the least appreciated then I'd say west virginia, but if you're asking about the most underappreciated than I'd say california, because despite being recognized as the best in many areas, I think most people don't comprehend just how important it really is. Also if you look in terms of number of people per senate seat - it's 18 million in California, and 0.5 million in Alaska and a few other states. That a huge under represenation, which explains the under appreciation.

I say NJ and CA get bashed with disregard to how important it is to the country. On the other hand, I have no clue what's the point of North Dakota and I'm pretty sure many other people have no idea what's that piece of land doing. But since someone posted that it holds nukes so N Dakota gets my votes.

Wyoming has a population of ~500,000, so 250,000 per senate seat. That's less people than in the District of Columbia, which has no Senate representation. But if you think that's relevant at all, you're missing the point of the two different houses of congress. Now, if you want to talk about electoral votes per person, California is definitely at the bottom of that list, with several states having three times as many electoral votes per person as California.
Not essentially any more. The Minuteman IIIs have mainly been yanked out of the ground. Now, the state is just a vast shaithole, minus a bunch of government funding that they used to get.

About the only thing about Delware that sticks in my mind is that when I drive through Port of Wilmington in I-495, it smells like shait. Not sure of the cause of the smell - whether it's the shipping ports or what, but it does stink in a nasty way. As far as good things for the state - no sales tax. Yeah!

Man, we New Jerseyans are an insecure lot. Everytime there is a state thread we jump in to defend our state before it even gets mentioned hehe.

the response by new jerseyans does not show insecurity. it's a fact that people have a bad image of NJ that is unwarranted.
California, everyone always has such horrible things to say about us, butealousy is a motherfvcker. Want us to leave? Fine, we'll take our gargantuan economy with us.
