The veggie sandwich I had at Subway today.

It was a total ripoff- a few pieces of lettuce, tomatos, onions, olives, picklet on a bun with a slice of cheese.

The whole "Super Size" and "Go Big" deal... they just milk you for more money than you've already spent so that you think you're getting a bargain. Soda and fries are like the cheapest thing to produce for those fast food restaurants.

Textbooks, and the whole buyback program with bookstores. Also on a related note, I worked briefly in the billing dept. of a university library, and I couldn't believe how much they were paying for subscriptions, like thousands of dollars for 4 issues a year for The Journal of ______. I understand it covers all the usage from different students, but some of those journals never leave the shelf.

<< the biggest rip off is the fact if a chicks birth control fails and you happen to knock her up... eventhough you were protected... you have to pay 18 years of child support even if you don't want the kid.

it's a rip off that the broad gets to keep your nuts for the next 18 years.

<< I think tobacco products are the biggest rip. They charge you money to kill you. >>

I'll agree with that one. My wife smokes 2 packs a day. Around $120.00 a month's worth.

I think that insurance companies are the biggest ripoff. Auto,Home and Health

LOL, I think insurance is one of the best bargains people can get. Of course, if a person never gets into an accident or has to have an operation or gets sued, then insurance is worthless, but I've yet to meet that person. With insurance, you're buying POWER. For prices that most people can afford, you're buying the ability to have a $50,000 operation, you're buying protection from a million dollar lawsuit, you're buying a new home with furnishings for your family if your house burns down. You're buying financial security for your loved ones if you die.

Insurance is a great deal. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just uninformed.

what I think are the biggest ripoffs:

Concessions at sporting events and movies
Outboard motors (yikes, 6000 bucks for a 50hp Yamaha with a tiller handle)
High end video cards
Textbook prices (luckily my college had textbook rental which was FREE!)
Direct View HDTV's
Golf clubs
Broadband internet rates

The only time Health Insurance is not a RIPOFF is when you have major surgery. How often does the average person have major surgery? Family Health Insurance cost me 380.00 a month through my work.
I go to the pharmacy to get 2 prescriptions. I pay 70.00 Insurance pays Zero.

LOL, that is NOT the norm. Whatever company you work for is NOT doing you any favors in the health insurance department. That's like 3-4 times what family health insurance costs through most employers.

Biggest ripoff? Besides insurance and federal income taxes... I would go with trading in a vechical.

I was recently in my local ford dealership getting ready to buy a new pickup, trading in my 96' explorer XLT with 120k on it, very little work done, nothing major has gone wrong with it, no huge visual damage, they offer me 3k for it... argh, how bad is that. Ended up selling it for 9200 last week... that is sad, was unbelieveably pissed about that, ended up going to the other ford dealership :)

while i'm not an abortion advocate and it is an entity growing inside a woman... there should be NO reason that a guy shouldn't be able to release himself from all finacial burden because of an accident...

if the chick is so stressed about not wanting an abortion... which i dont advocate... and she wants to keep the child she should have to cover all fincial burdens... or give up the baby when it's born.

and NO this did not happen to me.

Actually, the biggest ripoff is when your wife cheats on you and gets pregnant, has the kid, and you have to start paying child support after the divorce. This does happen...
