My friend recently came across a 79 Porsche 924 in good condition /w 75k miles on it. The lady that owns it is going to let it go for $2200. He's buying his first car too, keep in mind. I'm thinking it's a bad idea because what's gonna happen when he needs parts? They'll be expensive and hard to get most likely. But if it stays together, then $2200 isn't too bad. Any opinions/suggestions?
 
Have him take the car to a qualified mechanic for a thorough inspection first. It may cost some money up front, but if he is serious about the car, it's worth it to know. If those miles are real, the cars a good buy, so long as it's all there and has never had major damage.
