What do you think God is?

Ive always heard that like 95% of the world believes there is a God, yet from the way most of us act it seems we think he cant affect our lives. I met a guy once who thought that if God were to ever show himself to the world that he could be killed just like everyone else....so im wondering...what do you guys think God is? An omnipotent/omniscient being who we owe our very lives to? Or is he simply a being that watches us and helps when he feels like it? (and many of the other possible options.)

So if there are ever any contrasting views... we should just not talk about it? Hmmmmm.... yea, that sounds like a great idea.

Its because of the 'multiple views' on the subject that I asked here...why bother asking people I know who already have the same opinion as me?

In my opinion, God is omnipotent, and he exists to help us lead good lives (by developing morals with help through worship) The problem is, some people who say they believe in God really just go (to church) for some underlying reason, maybe one they don't even know, but they don't take the words and apply them to life and try to help others. They suck.

Back to my Alanis Morissette comment. If no one ever saw that movie, I thought that was a great point. Despite the irony that she played the part she did, it was interesting that different people saw God in different ways. From the movie, God took the form that would benefit and comfort the one who needed it most. That idea in itself comforted me for some reason. :)

Dogma

God is love (not the type people think of, please), long-suffering, kindness, slow to anger. . . And God reflects in nature, even in time of wrath. That is God.

Good question, by the way. :)
