No doubt the Intel Optane 900p 280GB is the best (especially as the 24GB leftover from the 256GB fast tier can be used for the pagefile*), but what about other SSDs? Which ones do you think are good or would be good?

Example: Would a 256GB 3D MLC SATA be better or worse than 256GB 3D TLC NVMe?

Also have you used AMD StoreMI yet?

*This via creating a separate drive letter for the 24GB and then assigning pagefile to it.

P.S. Any drives you would not use? DRAM-less 3D QLC SATA or DRAM-less planar TLC SATA? Or maybe these are passable (for certain use case scenarios) at 240GB/256GB capacity but not at 120GB/128GB capacity?

Recently I got to thinking how using a small (16GB to 64GB) Optane as fast tier might be good as RAM Extender for systems with 8GB RAM.

Would be interesting to see how 16GB Optane + 240GB SATA SSD (fuzed together as 256GB) compares to 256GB HP EX920 and how 32GB Optane + 480GB SATA SSD (fuzed together as 512GB) compares to 512GB HP EX920 for page-out during browsing and other tasks.
