What do you think about?

And living in a cement cage unloved and unwanted is not cruel? If dumbasses would get their pets fixed in the first place there would not be much need for the shelters.

its not the nicest thing, but just think of the amount of animals that do get adopted & compare that to the # that would die withing a week or two b/c they became lost or strayed & couldn't eat/got run over/etc.

Humane Society's that kill the animals that don't get adopted? I think it is cruel

Well, considering that nearly 100% of them do it, there's not really much to think about. It might be cruel, but it's an unfortunate byproduct created by human society. We are the reason for having to put all of these animals down.

This is why I have 12 cats right now. I take all the ones that are homless, abused, neglected .... whatever and I get them healthy, fixed, and vaccinated.... then they live with me until I can find them a home....

If they cannot be placed (missing limbs, or paws, or emotionally distresssed), they stay here forever.... I plaved EIGHT cats and TWO dogs this year. Used to have a brand new car... sold it and got a 96 ford to run around in. no more $289.00 a month car payments, and my insurance went down over 60%. more to spend on the animals.

IMHO, the *ONLY* time an animal should be put down is if it is in pain and there is no hope for recovery.

Ahh - so you're a cat lady.........

Anyway - all of our cats were either stray of picked up from the humane society.

I applaud you for what you are doing Karine. We took our 3 cats in because they were abused/neglected and we were suppose to take a dog (4 yrs. old) But the guy was suppose to bring the dog over yesterday but he didn't and we were told he was put to sleep. 🙁

You have a big heart! 😀

since raising two puppys to adult hood i have developed a new sensitivity for animals of all types I never realized how complex animals can be, they have such a range of emotion but don't have verbal ability to express it. I think too many
people don't understand this. I think its sad that animals have to be put down but it's the lesser of evils

what is really sad is how many people don't take responsibility for their animals and then just let them be turned over to a shelter. get your dog or cat spayed or neutered please. and don't buy a pet unless you fully understand the responsibilities of pet ownership.
