Results for volume C: (NTFS)

Volume Label:

Volume Size: 62.36 GB

Some files on the volume are open. This may effect the accuracy of the file system check and result in false errors.

The file system contains errors that need to be repaired.
I did a disc check but this still comes up on my seagate tool check.

It's telling you that files are open. In order to do its thing, you have to be out of Windows. If you want chkdsk to correct disk errors, you cannot have open files on the drive.

If you set up disk check from within Windows to run at next bootup, be sure to check the 2 options to
"Automatically fix file system errors" and to
"Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" .


or instead just, boot to DOS and from a command prompt run Chkdsk C: /f
(notice there is a space between C: and /f)
 
Press (usually) the F8 or F5 key during initial machine boot and when menu comes up choose boot to dos prompt only.
 
I got the seagate tools and went into dos mode with their disc and found critical errors. What should I do. Here it is

Seatools is suggesting that you run Chkdsk, do as Scott suggested previously and run it on reboot, or from DOS prompt as wpshooter wrote. Chances are good that Chkdsk will fix the errors.

Once you've got no errors in either Seatools or Chkdsk, backup your data.
