hi, im a newbie and would like the opinion of some more experienced pc gurus on what you think about this system and what parts to improve/tweak/upgrade, etc. i got this system a few months ago on a pretty tight budget so here goes:

P3 800
Aopen AX34 Pro M/B
128mb pc-133 RAM
20gb Quantum 7200rpm HD
Onboard sound
GeForce2 MX
Toshiba 8*4*32 CDWR
Pioneer 16* DVD
WinMe OEM
Acer 17" Monitor
3dmark 1024*768*16=4550 (pretty respectable i think)

Don't upgrade yet - waste of money. If the cash is burning a hole in your pocket, you could get some more memory. Everything else seems quite well matched. Perhaps a SB Live Value would be an improvement over the onboard sound. Others may say video card, but as long as you can play your stuff at acceptable resolutions at 16 bit colour, you might as well wait out the impending new releases.

Still, what you have there is an excellent system - probably above-average for members of this forum.

You have a very respectable system there, buddha13. You really don't have to upgrade anything as long as everything is running well. Like chansen said, a SB Live will be an improvement over your onboard audio, but it really isn't a necessary upgrade.
