well i'm about to order this PC. what do you think about that ? should i change anything ? right now i'm at the edge of my budget, so please omit the VapoChill Barbone case or the SEAGATE 146GB SCSI 10000 RPM 80 hard disk and so on.
one last thing - I'm planning to overclock this computer to about 3.6+, if possible. Of course I can't do it right now, as my cooling system only consists 2 generic fans that come with the case, but i'll probebly do it as soon as i'll have tthe money for a WC system.

You didn't say if money is an issue, but...

1. Unlike Jeff7181, I've had great results with Maxtor drives, but at this point, I don't think SATA buys enough performance to be worth the money. I also prefer AMD CPU's, especially considering the bang for buck ratio, but as long as what you buy works, that's user's choice.

2. If money matters, and there's a Best Buy near you, this week, they have the Verbatim 52x24x52 CDRW for $15, after rebate. If you can find a box with a serial number that is all digits, it's a Lite-On, probably not even rebadged. If the serial number contains letters, it's probably an AOpen. If you can get a Lite-On for $15, that pays for a lot of black plastic paint from a hobby shop and enough change for a nice dinner.

3. From personal experience, I strongly prefer Teac floppy drives, but FD's are cheap so go with what you can get. If you find the Verbatim/Lite-On, that bottle of black paint will probably cover more than the CDRW. 🙂

Oh my god man! What are you thinking? You won't be able to play Tetris on that thing!

/*End sarcasm

No mention of a sound card... Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum of course.

about the RAM - unfortunately OCZ are unavailable where i live - is there anything better than the TwinX 3200LL ? (i'll probably run them at 220Mhz or something like that)

I think everything is relative, if the system is under $1k it's nice, if it's much over $1k it's too expensive for my taste.
