What do you think about this monitor?

I'm looking for a new monitor to replace my 17" Dell from an old computer..
Is this one any good?
Any suggestions for something better and/or cheaper that is a decent 19"?

It really depends on what you use this monitor for.

Personally, I don't like Samsung products. The specs for this monitor is so so, but I suppose it's the price of what you pay.

I like Sony Monitors although they are a bit more pricey.

Happy hunting!

Personally I have heard sketchy things about dynaflat monitors, like screen flaws that can't be corrected with controls and other things. Look around in forums, I'm sure you'll see others with praise or complaints.

I actually own two of these monitors, one that I won and another that I purchased. My opinion is that they are a great monitor if you don't really want to run 1600x1200. I have a dual monitor setup with both of them at 1280x1024 running at 75 hz and this works well. Text is crisp at this setting. I love the flat monitors and now that I have used them I will never go back to the curved ones. Overall, I have been pleased with them. One problem that I have had was that one of the monitors had a capacitor blow which caused the monitor to not produce a true black color. It looked like the brightness was on high. The Samsung support was great however. I simply called, explained the problem and then they delivered a new monitor to my door free of charge and picked up the old one for free within about a week. I am not sure if this problem was a defect of the monitor or a problem with the power quality at my apartment. I haven't had a chance to check it, but I suspect that we are getting frequent voltage surges around here. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the replies. I'm going to keep looking around to see if I can find something that might be better in the same price range but I'm still considering the Samsung.
