They sound amazing

Not in a room that size they don't. I have a pair of Alesis Satellites I bought for $200 that will out-shake, out-jam, and out-orchestra those Z's with ease.

Get a used pair of Cerwin Vegas, or put your money together and get a pair of Athena FS-1's or 2s...or anything with some frikken drivers in it bigger than an orea cookie.

Speakers that small in a main room are for old people who listen to background light jazz. :D

Tell that to my neighbors, who I wake up all the time.. ;)

Loud is not the same as amazing ;)

You're right yes, but to me they are amazing for the price... my dad has 1500 dollar RBH towers so I've heard some good stuff before. For the price the logitechs are very hard to beat.

I'm not going to argue with that. The vast majority of your budget 5.1 options are really bad.

Wish i had enough money in college to have such luxury. Do you pay for your school? Or do your parents? Lucky!

Have you tried messing with the speaker placement at all?

It seems like the z-5500 sats are angled for desktop use and how you have them they're aiming up at the ceiling rather than going straight to the listening position.

Also, your center is quite low in relation to the front speakers. Have you tried placing it on top of the TV rather than under? I'm not sure if you have any space up there to set it, but that would be a more ear-level placement and it would be much closer to being in the same plane as the other speakers.

You make good points and I know you're the sound man ;) I don't really have any space to put the center channel on the tv.. I could lower the stands though so the speakers will be more ear-level.

I had a similar issue with my Z640's's and the bottom bracket could be removed and put on a different way to change the angle.

Ignore the haters with what they think are great setups telling you that your logitechs are crappy. These people forget that the logitechs were a lot cheaper than whatever they have and dollar for dollar have no competition.

My dad makes about $115K a year working for Idaho national laboratory. My mom doesn't work. My sister and I are both in college, I'm not afraid to admit that I do have it easy and I'm thankful for being so lucky.
