My rich friend bought some 40k jaguar off of ebay because he says you can get cars for real cheap off of ebay. Anyway, 5 days after he got it, the engine caught on fire and the car blew up. LOL! He was actually quite happy with the sale in the end because insurance ended up paying him more than what he bought the car for. But anyway, he still sticks to his advice about car comming real cheap off of ebay. What do you guys think about this? How can you protect yourself......I am still not very clear on which insurance company he got or how he did it. I think just the regular insurance covered him. Do they do that if your car blows up?

This has been asked many times before. Just do a search.

As I have stated in other threads my family has purchased three cars off of ebay now. 2 Dodge Stealths and a BMW 540i. All were purchases made by ending the auction early and visiting the location of the car to check it out.

Anything happened to them? They run fine now?

Have never had a problem. The 540i is a recent purchase, but we have had the Stealths for >4 years each now.

fly out and check it out

buying a car sight unseen is a moronic move to make unless you don't plan on using it as is (project car, rebuilds)
