good choices except! why the boston acoustics ba4800??? my speaker recommendations are klipsch 2.1 or logitec 424 pulses (these are awesome!)

the fact that you asked what ecc is, you don't need it or want it.
ecc is error correction for RAM its primarily used in high end servers and workstations for important information and all its not needed sincei t slows down performance in normal pc's

Get the BA's, they are priced good and a quality product. Lots of people have been having problems with the Epox, might want to try MSI's K7T266 Pro2.

Unless you are set on a slot loading dvd-rom...get the lite-on 16x48x dvd-rom for 56.00 shipped at newegg...

No, this is not just personal opinion...check out the review at www.storagereview.com...the pioneer sucks hard compared to the lite-on in about every category...even the artec smokes it. If you are into ripping dvd's this will be a 22 percent hit in performance. The liteon reads cd's at 48x and extracts dae at about the fatest of any of the dvd-roms...

Name brand loyalty is foolish at the performance differences...
