And you're not doing sht? And you're not really responsible for anything, but he doesn't exactly know that for one reason or another?

I really don't work at a job where I have time to 'not do sh!t' but I'd probably say 'nothing right now, is there something I can help out with?'

Same here my boss understands since she was originally in my position before. But usually I tell her, "I'm neffing, WHAT DO YOU WANT!?!?!"

Working on this particular task....

I do web development and project management.

There is no such thing as "not doing anything"

In my opinion, there are not enough hours in a day to get all the stuff done.

I get real quite and sit still and concentrate real hard...

Then breathe a sigh of relief and tell them it's going to get stinky in a few seconds

Usually sends em running

Yup...helps also to always have a stack of papers in your hand and a frazzled look on your face.

And always walk like you're in a hurry...

I like to complain about my current task, so they stopped asking me what I'm doing. Be a total time waster by moving the conversation into a different direction and then destroying their daily timetable. That keeps them from coming back if they stay late every time they call you.

They've moved on to being straight and asking me if I can help with somethin.
