In the south they say "Do What???"....that irritates the hell out of me. I didn't ask you to DO anything?!?!?!?

I simply say, "What?". I wouldn't suggest that other people use that though. Far too often I get blamed for bad hearing when I say it. I wish I could change to something like "Pardon me?", but it is an instinct - the word comes out of my mouth before I have time to think of something better to say.

It was a joke. I'm not chinese, and English is my first language.

Seriously now, it depends. I switch between huh? Sorry? Pardon? and WTF?

I'm sorry?
Or, as the similar thing would be in danish: Undskyld? (=sorry? We don't use the jeg=I in front normally)

I usually smack them upside the head and unleash my almighty vengeance on them, and threaten to unleash the plagues unless they clarify themselves, while doing all sorts of nasty things on them.

Or I just say "what?":)

If it is not improtant...i am like "right...blah blah" changing the subject

If i must know..."i am sorry..missed that, can you say it again"

If i have no idea what the person is say..."I dont understand..sorry"
