What do you reccomend?

What 80mm fan/heatsink do you guys/gals reccomend for an AMD 2800 XP Barton? I cannot find a certified 80mm on the AMD site.
I am looking for a QUIET fan, the one I have now drives me nuts (coolmaster model?)

Is there any question whether or not to use Arctic Silver as opposed to the heatpad since I will not be overclocking this CPU. Meaning should I just stick w/ the heatpad...??

Thermalright SLK-800 or the new SLK-900 (which will accept a 92mm fan). I would not use the pad but that is personal preference. I have never used a pad when mounting a HSF and when I bought a HSF combo from a company they did not use one either. A lot of people around here use AS3 but Arctic Silver Alumina is said to clean up better while providing good transfer of heat as well.

As far as the fan:
SLK 800 - 80mm Panaflo L1A should suffice
SLK 900 - 80mm Panaflo L1A/92mm Zalman ZM-F2

Of course these are just suggestions. Hope this helps.

Thermalright SK-7 with a Y.S. Tech Adjustable fan. The Panaflo L1A's are very popular with that heatsink, but for a 2800 Barton, I expect you'll need more airflow.

Oh, yes, definitely Arctic Silver 3, too.

Thanks guys. I have a Dynatron on the way but seems to be stuck in transit and I may RMA it if it ever does show up and try one listed in your posts since the dynatron has a db level of around 37. Thanks again.

And I will go with the Arctic paste too.
