what do you put on a cover leter for a resume?

Still looking for workhere. I have notice some places ask for a cover leter. What goes on a cover letter? Any advice will be greatly apprecaited.

Tips:
1) State why the position got your attention.
2) Be direct.
3) Sell yourself as much as possible, yet be somewhat modest.
4) Emphasize your relevant experience/skills as much as possible.
5) Check spelling and grammar.
6) Conclude by saying that you look forward to their reply and suggest them a few convenient means to reach you. Also state that you enclosed your resume for their review.

pick out a couple of things from the advertisement/job posting, that you think you match perfectly, then say in the cover letter you are great at those things
be brief and to the point

Does it drastically cut into your neffing time to take the trouble to capitalize and check spelling? God, people that f*cking lazy don't deserve a decent job!

BTW, since you make it a point to neff a three word post in nearly every topic, I'll see what I can do about sticking some kind of ornery reply in as many of yours as I can! You deserve it pal! ;)

Very good but I've always been told to not be modest...you're trying to prove you're the best person for the job, not that you deserve to be cannonized ;)
