I prefer Nvidia by a lot, to me ATI is part of the enemy, yeah I'm a fanboy and proud of it, I've used ATI's cards before but I prefer Nvidia's video cards.

I voted Nvidia b/c I've only ever bought Nvidia based cards. However, I have nothing against ATi, and don't have a reason as to why I've never bought a card based on their GPU's *shrug*

I dunno, typically whatever is faster but ever since my 9800 pro I've really liked ATI - especially lately with the whole crazy nvidia price and availability issues

I like ATI because they offer better image quality, because of their X1900XT being the fastest and because I'm getting 1, and because the pictures on their card packages look cooler. I also like the red PCBs better than nvidia's boring Green PCBs. High Quality AF also gets another + for ATI. I also like how on the X800 series they put a picture of gargoyles on the boxes and heatsing a lot better than nvidia's stupid mermaid. Also, ATI always comes back in the later part in each generation and blows nvidia away. The 9700pro IMO is the best card ever to come off of a drawing board. It whooped any game with ease from August of 2002 to April of 2004 and still runs games like FEAR and COD2 on 1024*768 with medium details and 4xAF. That's pure Pwnage for a 3 and a half year old card. I'll take ATI over Nvidia anyday.

Bang for buck around 200$ is all I'm interested in. This segment goes back and forth though ATI has had it wrapped up really since the 9800 Pro. Of course, I'm not afraid of some modding/ocing to get decent performance out of a 200$ card.

It seems that in the early part of a generation Nvidia takes the upper hand, but toward the end ATI takes the upper hand:
9800XT>5900 Ultra
X850 XT PE>6800 Ultra
X1900XTX>7800GTX 512 "although this generation is still going on."

I prefer ATI, but own Nvida cards for the most part. I will always buy where the best performance in my price range is, but if it were a choice based soley upon name and everthing else being equal i'd go ATI.

dont know why as i dont have much exerience with video cards but i always see nivida beating ati cards on benchmarks

so nivida for me

you haven't seen the recent x1900xt benches then have you?

I've been a huge fan of ATI & still am...But when I needed to upgrade most recently, the 7800 GT was the best bang for the buck...& Nvidia made it...Simple as that...

The 7800 series is the only Nvidia series I've ever had any interest in...
