Garden Bello

Obviously it is not done yet, but well on it's way.

Right now my main problem is that it doesn't load right in IE. It keeps askinng to activate the control:(

Ther are others, but they can be fixed

1) creating a flash to php form is a mess:( I tried following tutorials since standard forms don't seem to work and although I get mail messages, all i get is syntax errors:(

2) the intro animation (the two big grey rectangles that dissapear) goes beyond the horizontal border which need to fix.

3_as for the gallery, I tried inserting an iframe pointing to a html/ flash gallery apge with no luck. Will have to use popup windows:(
any other opinions are welcome.

No responses, huh? :(

So far everything is up and running minus the email submittion form and some of the colors. The galleries are all up and you can see what great work this company does...they are ridiculous.

The email form is driving me nuts though:( The php scripts that work fine for me on our company site aren't working, and after abunch of tutorials I have had it for the day:(

I hope I get at least some comments...tell me that it sucks at least.

Well ignoring the fact i have a problem with flash sites ;), The only major gripe is the bright blue line on your top box. It doesnt seem to fit with anything else. Try turning down the saturation on that puppy.

i like the way it looks, but the gallery needs a LOT of work to match the rest of the site.

The picture for the contact page should be changed. The man is distracting. I personally dont like the whole water color idea. It's distracting and takes away from what should be there: Clear pictures of good work done by the company. The first page is a clear image and the rest are watercolor looking paintings. It looks like the company makes watercolor paintings. I would try to be more consistent , in both the images and the gallery. Grand Theft Auto meets landscaping. heh.

i fancy some of the work the company has done too :)
but yea... re-looking at the site shows that flash does work for this page, but its too abrupt of a change between the main gallery page and moving to the bland showcase of photos. at least some kind of fancy html work for the photo pages.

Yeah, I would remove the watercolor, and just have real pictures that are professional-quality.

Ok, for the Gallery section, I think you should make it open within the orginal window rather than opening a new window. But that's just me. Oh, and put a link to go back to the Gallery menu in each of the 4 design pages.

BTW, the sumbit button for Contact Us doesn't work. The little red arrow next to it does, but there's no confirmation on whether the info's sent (same result w/ FF and IE). Would be nice to have a window pop up to confirm the info's sent and bring the client back to the home page.

Looks good to me, might suggest they take recent pics of their work that shows warmth rather than sterile settings. I like their work though.

Agreed. Plus the colors might be a little dark. Also in the about section I'm still not too sure what you guys do without going to the gallery.

Also the home page is a bit impersonal, perhaps a company slogan would help?

1) that little blurb was somethign I translated from some raw text they give me. I notcied that too and will let them know.

2) unfortuantely I couldn't find a simple solution to keep the gallery in there. Every gallery I know of requires html/xl/flash/ and I could not integrate them into the page using an iframe etc:(

getURL has it's limits appearantly:(

3) Like I said I still need to work on the colors but the clients eems to like the overall color scheme

The navigation is tacky but American-proof :)P), but the gallery looks like ******. Also, popups are the devil.

help me find a better way...practically no one on the net knows how to implement iframes in flash..*

*= the gallery needs to be updated by the user:( (using simpleviewer or porta) but I have to set it up on another page.

I guess I could use the "_parent" getURL argument, but when it goes to the gallery page it doesn't transition well.

I know ah heck all about Flash/web design so feedback from a typical user:

Contact page says "We will contact your shortly."

The font for "Contact us via our site" looks a bit smudged. I think it's used for "About Garden Bello" as well but doesn't look as bad there.

Body text for "About Garden Bello" needs rewriting (maybe it's a placeholder?).

Not too sure on the "Lightbox" and "Album view" terms. They don't mean much to me, especially after clicking on them.

Nothing to "do" in the centre boxes for "Home" and "About Garden Bello". The home link says check out the galleries, but you have to go to the top link, not a link in the body text?

Tested on FF 1.5.0.6, with an LCD.
