When i rented my apt recently they needed ID, $$$, proof of income (copies of last 3 months' paychex), bank info, references, credit report, renter's insurance.

It's always different.

Yes, but that's not all info that you have to supply them with on paper. All you need for documentation is your ID and pay stub.
