What do you name your resume when emailing to an employer?

I'm getting ready to send my resume via email for a new job. I was wondering what others name their resume and what format they send it in.

I was thinking something along the lines of "myfirstandlastname.pdf"

firstnamelastname.doc

But I think an HR person with any trace of organizational skills would rename it to their liking when they save it down.

PDF is the BEST if e-mailing your employer because it makes everything look so much more professional (which is the only reason to use PDF)

Any good company probably won't care, to be honest.

A PDF will hide all the formatting tweaks you made. cutePDF writer is a good one to use if you need a PDF printer.

Many have guidelines for what format they prefer--I'd suggest trying to find those.
I would say .doc is probably the way to go if there are no guidelines.

"Firstname MiddleInitial Lastname - Resume.doc"

Gets sent in .doc format, with a note in the email that I have other versions if they would like them. If a format is explicitly specified, I obviously use that.

ODT for sure! Actually, I always send mine in RTF as "resume.rtf". I could have named it better, but I have a good job now, so it doesn't matter in the end.

I send mine as a PDF so that there won't be any problems printing it. And I just name mine resume.pdf because I figure they'll rename it anyways.

That's right, all of you got pwned.

That's right, I quoted and bolded it!

NanoStuff, we are only pwned if you hand code every line of HTML. If you save it from "What You See Is What You Get" editor, then you = PHAIL.

I have done html resumes. Embedded CSS and all. Yes, by hand.

I prefer FirstIntialMiddleInitialLastNameResume.pdf

Then consider yourself pwned :) Every last line including CSS. Nothing is more presentable than an interactive graphical resume that also contains download URLs to just about all conceivable document formats. I don't have to choose one format, I choose all of them :)
