Yes, I know of Jack and Coke but I am trying to stay away from soft drinks if possible. Coke Zero tastes like crap in my opinion.

What about jack and coconut water for example?

I mix Appleton Gold Rum with Grace Kennedy coconut water and it is good! A bit healthier than coke for sure.

Anyway, what do you all mix with Jack? Do you care about something healthy as a mixture at all?

I honestly can't stand the flavor of jack. I can tolerate it in diet coke (something about the artificial sweetener) but that's about it. My goto super cheap whiskey is makers.

Sour, but that's probably just as bad for you as a soda.

Also works with ginger ale.

If you're worried about the soft drink being unhealthy you could try going to whole foods or trader joe's to get an organic soda.

I made the mistake of buying JD once. I don't like mixed drinks for the most part; I drink everything neat. One exception is the occasional gin&tonic, but I might drink two of those a year. If you like sweet girly stuff, you may like Southern Comfort and seltzer water. The seltzer cuts the sweetness, and it reminds me a bit of a 7&7. YMMV on that. I haven't had that since my teens, and that was a loooong time ago, but I liked it at the time.

Makers mark>JD

but... I've really started to like Vanilla coke and whiskey. Also mix it with water with a dash of sweet and sour on top.

don't about it being healthy either... i don't drink cokes aside from with alcohol and have a pretty decent diet so it allows me to slip every now and then :)

Jack tastes like an ass. Step your whiskey game up.

And if you can't drink it straight, it's probably bad liquor.

What do I mix JD with? Piss! Because, that is what it might as well be!

I am not a huge whiskey guy. I'd probably mix it with some kind of soda. Probably a Dr. Pepper.

I can't drink bourbon of any kind...and while Jack technically isn't "bourbon," it's close enough for my palate.
This distaste goes back to my youth when 2 fifths of "Bourbon Supreme" almost killed me...just one smell still makes me want to vomit.

I mix Jack Daniel's with desperation; it's the only way to stomach it. The problem with Jack is that the trademark "burnt charcoal" flavor is really off-putting in basically every traditional whiskey cocktail. It's not a good substitute for rye or bourbon for mixing purposes, which pretty much limits it's usefulness to Jack and Coke (which I admittedly enjoy from time to time). Jack and coconut water sounds horrifying; rum and coconut go together magically because they're both tropical flavors, which Jack Daniel's is decidedly not. But who knows; try it out and see if you can keep it down. I'd still recommend just regular Coke.
