What do you make of Attorney General Gonzales' assertion that the constitution does not guarantee habeas corpus to all peoples or even citizens of the United States?

Personally i think this statement shines a light on the entire thought process of the neo-cons that have hijacked the Grand Old Party.

Another downside to electing a retard for president is that he brings other retards with him. What exactly are Gonzo's qualifications to be AG aside from being Bush's buddy from Texas?

It's just another example of how little respect this administration has for the constitution and the rights of the individual.

I think he is the product of cronyism and is unfit for his post, but that is just me.

The Justice Dept. has had extensive experience in recent years explaining how the law isn't really the law; especially when it pertains to the Presidents actions. Other examples are: international treaties, U.S. law pertaining to torture, domestic spying, detention of foreign nationals overseas, the Shiavo case, etc..

The constitution guarantees free speech---and any nut can say anything---and Alberto is far less credible than the average nut---and perilously close to the point where he becomes dangerous---and hence requires a very hard smack down.

After all, free speech does not extend to yelling fire in a crowded theater. But at a certain point, the danger is really to Alberto himself---as a mob is like as not to simply string him up rather than taking the time to smack him down.

The U.S. Constitution, Article I, Section 9 states in paragraph 2:

The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

Gonzo the Clown's mother warned him that, if he didn't stop it, he'd go blind.

Guess he didn't listen.

Perhaps his testimony about the AG firings really was utter incompetence rather than intentional perjury?

"You're doing a great job, Gonzie!"

It was Mr. Brown who made appending an ie to the name and saying you are doing a great job.
And so Brownie, Bushie, Chertie, and other spring to mind---but there is a unmistakable subliminal message we seem to to be missing---when we add Gonzie to the list---we should realize there is no accident in the implied solution everyone rational demands---namely the demand for Alberto Gonzales to be GONE---exit stage right--or left---or go to the Hague---or hell--but begone damn snot.

Yet another torpedo for the mafia regime ... If he wasn't willing to lie like he's done about Patriot Act's gross violations and mistakes right in front of congress, break the law and disregard American citizens' rights as a whole, he wouldn't have been hired by King George. Bush has assembled a political mafia of thugs, enforcers and fall-guys that stop at nothing to achieve their ends simple as that.
