In the morning: mix of traffic and talk.
Afternoon: comedy, talk shows, classical or jazz.

morning i listen to a talkshow for this funny skit where a guy calls in (Huggy Lowdown on WPGC) then i'll turn it off after. I"ll put on my phatnoise which right now mainly has trance/house on it. I have been listening to a bunch of state of trances by armin van buuren as well as some older reggae that I like.

When I used to commute an hour and a half each way I'd listen to either audiobooks or conservative talk radio. If I worked late enough, I got to hear Michael Savage. That was a real treat.

Absolutely nothing. I like hearing the sound of nature or reality, even if it's just other traffic.

And some of my best thinking is done while i'm driving.

I am in the car most of the day, travelling from client to client.

Usually I am listening to one of the two sports radio stations here in Atlanta. Sometimes I throw the iPod on shuffle and listen to it. That's usually about it.

Same here. Throw in AM 750 in addition to 680 and 790.

I'll listen to my MP3 player when there's an audio book that catches my interest.

Fortunately we have a new radio station that plays rock from the 90s like Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, etc. I listen to that and switch to CDs during commercials or whenever their idiot DJs come on.

My preference in roughly the following the order:

1) Local sports talk (not the nationally-syndicated shows.) Some of them are good, but I've never been a huge fan of syndicated radio. I prefer local flavor when it comes to radio. But if they're not talking about something I enjoy (and this is the slowest time of the year) then . .

2) Podcasts. Usually more tech-oriented shows like TWiT, BuzzOutLoud, DL.TV, etc, but I also have a few more comedy-oriented podcasts I like.

For commuting and having to deal with traffic I personally find talk (be it local sports radio or podcasts) more relaxing than music. It helps pass the time better and keeps me nice and calm.

Music - some radio, some CDs
Market Place. Most NPR shows have gotten so dumbed down they aren't worth listening to anymore.
I listen to Democracy Now occasionaly though Amy Goodman's cutting off of guests when they don't tow her line is annoying.
