A polar bear's fur isn't white, it's clear. It acts like a fiber optic and passes the light to the skin to warm the bear.

Pretty much anything I learned at university. All of my programming knowledge, lots of maths, physics, astronomy, philosophy.

I used to be a mechanic (and graduated top of the school for that) so I have an excellent understanding of how cars work, well above average.

Stuff I know that wasn't learned at school would be some of the interesting esoteric maths tidbits I've picked up in books (things like how to construct a Mandelbrot set, etc). I read a lot (almost all non-fiction) so I have a ton of trivia about some really interesting stuff rattling around in my head.

I know how to deal with difficult people, turn enemies into friends, and defuse people's anger. I can make people like and respect me even when they don't want to, and without sacrificing my ideals or kissing up. Basically you just treat them with obvious and heartfelt respect, and you let their attacks slide off you without hurting you. You know...as you would have them do unto you. Works with all but the very worst or craziest people.

I think I know the name of every weapon that has a name in all of LOTR, The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion. I also know the names of Feanor's seven sons, where the seven Palantiri were kept, and a lot of other stuff. Tolkien trivia challenge, anyone? Just those three books, though...I don't know his other stuff. Nor have I studied the languages extensively. Gotta draw the line with my fandom somewhere.

I know that Kirk Thatcher, the punk on the bus in Star Trek IV, was also an executive producer of the movie.

I know that Koyaanisqatsi means crazy life, or life out of balance.

I know that Happy Rhodes' original first name was Kimberley.

I know that MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.

I know that Babe Ruth slugged .690 lifetime, higher than Albert Pujols has ever slugged in a single season.

I know how to spell pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

I can say the alphabet faster backward than forward.

I know that David didn't write all the Psalms, and Solomon didn't write all the Proverbs, and a lot of other Bible stuff.

I know the inscription at Thermopylae commemorating the 300 Spartans, both the Ancient Greek and the English translation.

I know how to say "Success, my Lord!" in Klingon.

I know that I get carried away when asked what I know that most people don't know, but thinking of good answers is a fun challenge for me, so there :sun:

Mostly work related things. Mapping stuff. Some mathematics and other sciences that I'm interested in but don't fully understand.
