What do you know about LogMeIn?

I need to remote control the computer of one of my relatives and I tried alot of utilities without any succes: his ISP is using a proxy that blocks any atempt. I've just came across LogMeIn and it looked nice - keep in mind I haven't realy read alot about it.

I decided on this for a customer to solve their problem of letting a remote consultant work on their server. It has worked well for them, and it has a one free account for personal use.

I've been using it for a while now; works very well.

Its biggest advantage I guess is that it's so easy to setup and use, as the access software is all browser based, so you can connect remotely via OSX or Linux without any configuration on the remote box whatsoever.

I have been using it on and off for several years, setup is easy and it works reasonably well. Only downside is yearly cost if you want file transfers to work. Another option you can try is to use hamachi (now owned by log me in) to set up a vpn then use remote desktop to make the connections.

I've tried it and it works, as you all said, very well. Great solution for accessing a workstation behind proxy/NAT.

I know it's not "General Hardware"
Why don't you actually Google it and read about it?

I think he wants the "inside dope" from us "Pros" here.
Why waste time reading FAQ's when the experts can break it down... 😛

*Psst*

Let me tell you, ghidu, LogMeIn is infact a front for a secret society of hackers from AT, installing trojans on every PC that uses our software and creating botnets to DDOS the websites of leading Vegemite manufacturer Kraft foods. If we teach you the secret handshake and hidden codes to enter, you can use LogMeIn for the purpose it claims on our cunningly misleading website if you wish, but only Number One can decide whether or not to initiate you.

We just really hate vegemite.
