I keep all my backup programs, such as a copy of winzip, winrar, adobe reader... you know the necessities after you format someone's computer.

Or you could have gotten it for free (64 mb) from m$ for signing up for and not attending an online seminar like I did :)

Well I've got 3:

256mb: Use this one for school. Pretty much all my schoolwork from my 3 years at college are on there.

128mb: coding stuff, documents, miscellany (email, favorites folder), website stuff, essential programs for fixing other people's problems (badcopy pro, adaware, spybot)

64mb: Nothing at the moment.

I just ordered a 1gb today, Lexar JumpDrive Sport. Nice rubber cap and actually fits on a keyring :)

I currently have a 128mb Lexar JumpDrive (regular). I mostly use it for school. However, I'm getting more into computer graphics and I needed a bigger stick, which is why I bought the 1gb stick - the files from photoshop and everything get pretty big.

As for useful files:
-XP SP2
-w2k SP4 (5 now?)
-Firefox
-Thunderbird
-Stinger
-Zonealarm
-StartupCPL (google 'Mike Lin')
-Belarc personal advisor
-Acrobat Reader
-Java JRE 5 (or whatever it's called)
-Flash for Firefox

Keep homework, photos of your family and girlfriend, etc., on it. I find it useful to store the semester's worth of work on it, just in case I need to reference anything or print out an emergency copy.

I wish I had one :( I'm too busy trying to gather parts (and money!) for my new computer(s) to go out and buy a thumb drive.

Dont have one yet.. but I'll probably pick up one eventually and cram it with utilities. Plus whatever recent documents I'm actually working with. Currently I use the ftp on my website for such function, but not all computers have net access.

hmm.. pocket firefox... I haven't thought of that. Where can I get it?

I got a 1GB PQI usb drive. It's so small and thin that it fits in my wallet. Since I've only had it for a week, I've only had school work on it (over 100MB of GIS data). It comes in handy if you don't want to carry around disks or cds (don't want to bring along schoolbag to hold it).
