Joining the bandwagon of the influx of "what would you do scenario" threads.

me - I always have a spare knife in each of my cars but other than that I don't carry during the week because I can't bring it into work.

I'll go with probably a less than obvious reply of gun/knife...

Seat belt cutter+window breaker.

I've been practicing kung fu chops with my left hand out of the open driver's side window. I think I'm good if someone attacks me from that side.

what if they attack from the other side?

Do you just pee on them?

That's plan A. I think I can get it in their eyes from that distance depending on how much coffee I've had that day. Plan B involves ky jelly and a rat terrier that I don't always have with me.

Stuff. Lots of stuff.

In times of possible civil unrest like local college games or political problems, bigger stuff in the trunk.

Seeing 300+ people blocking the freeway and threatening motorists got me thinking that just the stuff I carry on me isn't enough during possible civil and political unrest.

I'm thinking a canister of bear spray that can shoot 30-40feet might be a good addition.. problem is you don't want to leave it in your car in the hot summer months.

I keep a 70 hp engine and a bumper in the car. Should take care of most issues.

Common sense.

I don't drive to shady areas. Never felt I needed a weapon in my entire driving life.

Radar detector. Insurance rates from tickets will kill you.

As far as physical danger? I live in an area where I don't need to worry about it, at all.

How reliable is this? The unmarked cop can easily chase you first with naked eye (already screwed) then use radar.

Just don't speed. This isn't being an internet snob- it just saves you guaranteed money and headache than using radar.
