Actually, I was thinking of upgrading just to create some spare parts :) A file and database sever is very handy.

I have one server doing the following:

Web/Email, Fileserver (Music Backup/data offload/crap like that)...

It's got php/mysql & some other stuff on it as well although it doesn't get used all that much anymore.

So it's basically heavily used for email/fileserver...

I have a HTPC that is or will be used for:
- HTPC (duh)
- Local backup server (use Robocopy to copy important files from my and my wife's computers at night)
- Remote backup server (use a shell script to tar the websites I host and FTP them to my house once a week)
- Local webserver - for development

Im building a home theater file server soon. Planning on storing recorded TV shows and DVDs on a large RAID to be able to watch my favorite TV shows or DVDs with a click of the button. Then I can have computers all over the house that just have TV out. So yeah... ile server I guess, file server that records TV and rips DVDs.

I run a Samba PDC in my apartment alongside an openvpn server (same box) that allows secure wifi connections, it also serves as a print server for the laser jet that we share, then I have one box with a 2.2tb raid for storage (pictures movies etc), the last server is just a linux test bed where I test out new packages etc.

Oh yeah, I guess I have a print server too... but it's ~1"x2"x3", not a computer.

One communications/p2p/fileserver

My HTPC only has a 6GB HD and streams everything from the main server.

Just a file server at the moment, but my whole network is wireless. I may consider moving back to a wired connection 'cos it's faster, but the wiring is a btch, and expensive :(
