I usually have oatmeal. I have been buying bulk rolled/large flake oats for a while and find it more enjoyable than cold cereal.

I use water and add some salt, cinnamon and some type of fruit like dates or berries.

I change it up at times with some scrambled eggs, bacon and some toast. Sometimes I make pancakes from scratch (pretty easy).

Once in a while I may make a PBJ sammich or 2.

What about you guys?

Met some bros for breakfast. I had an omelette with some spinach & cheese, two sausage Pattie’s which I think the place makes on site, some home fries. Pretty excessive breakfast but man it was good & a good time.

Works days it's one of two menus. Menu A is two mystery meat sausage links, and a vegetarian sausage patty. Menu B is a frozen aldi breakfast sandwich. After I get to work, and head out to the first job, I have a granola bar, nuts and dried fruit, or an apple.

At home, it's whatever. I can wait awhile before eating, so it's a little ambiguous as to what to call it. Most likely is steelcut oats with salt and butter. Might also be potatoes, spam, eggs, and cheese. Infrequently it's pancakes. I've been getting into pb&j lately. Some kind of lower sugar preserve, and a peanut or other nut butter. I've been digging Earth Balance coconut oil peanutbutter. It's peanuts supplemented with coconut oil, and coconut flavoring. It's really good, and a little different from the usual.

I usually have a 6 egg omelette du fromage and a protein shake. Someone in another thread was talking about how they like Kraft American cheese on their eggs. I use American a lot too. Not that glue off the isle though. Boar's Head white and yellow are excellent with eggs. I use Boar's Head Colby Jack 3 pepper a lot too. Sometimes I do the 2 cheeses half and half with the omelette. Sometimes I just have the protein shake because I don't like to do cardio with anything heavier in me. Banana is about the only other thing I'll eat for breaking the fast, but haven't bought them in months.

I avoid eating a lot of carbs. Boxed cereals tend to have a high glycemic index which no bueno for an older man like myself.

This cheese is excellent

Stack of 8 pancakes with maple syrup and blueberry preserves I made yesterday, lots of butter. For lunch I had a light soup with some crackers thrown in for some filling. feeling lousy and I've been laying on the couch drifting in and out of consciousness and feeling wrestless. tempted to go the natural route and crack open one of the hard liquor bottles I've got laying around gathering dust. old mother natur emethod of dealing with a cold.

For highly processed cheese the Board's head stuff is better than... what is it, kraft in the blue bag?

think you guys call it the same we do back home. processed cheese food product. it's still based off of cheese but combined with other stuff that reduces the cheese curd content under an amount where it can't be called simply cheese anymore.

yep, begins as 100% cheese and cut with other ingredients which take it down to 50% real cheese. kinda like how chocolate is defined as must having an amount of pure chocolate liqueur and cocoa mass.

and I'm reminded I've got coffee liqueur. exciting

I was at the dollarstore once and forgot to get cheese when I was at the grocery store, but really wanted grilled cheese that night, and didn't feel like going back to the grocery. I went to the cooler to see what the dollarstore had. I'm not a fan of slices anyway, but I was feeling lazy. I saw some processed cheese product slices, thought "How bad could it be? It's probably pretty close to real cheese", and I bought them. I think the plastic wrapper from real cheese would have had more flavor, and they didn't melt *at all*. I looked at the ingredients, and there were a couple products that probably came from a cow several processes ago, but I've never seen a "cheese product" have so little dairy in it. It would have been a rip off if absolutely free...

Aunt Donna, that you?
It's kind of a coincidence that you used that name. My moms name is Donna. Growing her go to was a Diet Coke over ice at the McDonalds drive through. I guess the apple didn't fall to far from the tree....

Anyway, a heavy breakfast consisting of meats, cheese, or grains just slows me down and makes me feal sluggish.

Even the Kraft is really rubbery and bad.

Havarti makes a good grilled cheese IMO.

My standard is extra sharp cheddar, and the secondary is Swiss cut off a block. Both are typically commodity cheese. Aldi brand, but I think it's made by Kraft. Sometimes I use more premium cheeses. Gruyère is really good, and aldi sometimes has a parm/cheddar blend that makes a good grilled cheese.

People call Aldi's poor people food. But if you know what to buy you can get some good eats for cheap. I love their German harvest vegetable and Hearty pea soups when I am too beat up to cook anything and don't want to blow through my kcal budget. Don't think we buy any cheese there;' the Mrs. handles most of that shopping.

I love cheese in general. And I'll beat someone's ass over some Irish Cheddar.

99% of my breakfasts for the last 14 years or so have been an egg, a piece of bacon, and toast (usually egg in a basket), usually with some hot sauce on it.

I love aldi. It's my favorite store. What I really like is there's something different every week, so it's always novel. The downside is they get good stuff in, but it's for a very limited time, so you have to just do without when they don't have it. but it makes more special when you can get whatever. I really like German week, especially when it's the Oktoberfest version. They get German candied almonds in. I'll buy a dozen bags of them to get me through winter. And I wonder why I get fat :^D

I go to Wegmans once a month or so for premium groceries, and to pickup coffee. They're easily my favorite for a "normal" grocery store. They have ultra premium food, but you can get out of there without spending a fortune by buying their house brand stuff, which is all top quality, and better than the normal American big names.

For the last several months, my daytime calories are minimal. Hardboiled egg, can of tuna, triple yogurt and maybe an apple.....and coffee.

Can't control what the wife brings in the house but I can my office. Zero self control so I eat whatever in the evenings.

Hasn't affected my bike rides or workouts. Before, always felt I needed carbs prior to. Read an article that said, unless you burn them, your liver/cells store enough sugar for 2 days.

210ish. 205 being the goal.

Our German Lady friend turned us onto Aldi's about 15yrs ago? She brought some of those white German sausages with kraut and the German beer they sell there, to a potluck after a karate seminar. Those sausages are so good. They have a FB group where the German community in Orlando area track all the items coming and going at Aldi. You have to be quick if you want any before it's all bought up.

Back on topic: I will eat a bowl of soup, turkey and cheese rolled up with some country style Dijon, or some cheese for breakfast sometimes. Depends on how nuked I am. And if I am feeding me or all of us.

Yup. I carb load with a pasta or rice based meal at dinner or supper. Breaking my fast is protein and fat.

I am lactose intolerant so the good/natural cheese is out of the question.

The single slice cheese stuff is pretty good and allows me to have some cheese in my diet. Obviously some cheese slices are better than others. The best I have tried is the Kraft Extra Cheddar. They also have 2 grilled cheese varieties here. One with Sharp Cheddar and a 3 Cheese Blend and both are extra thick. We have quite the variety of cheese slices in Canada.
