I want to try it out, but I'm not sure if I should upgrade my Voodoo5500 card to a Geforce2 Pro for just that feature.

Well, if are going to upgrade for just that feature, don't. Especially if you don't even see any immediate advantages right now or have a specific reason why you need it.

It can be used to display anything from your computer on a TV or projector, etc. It makes presentations a lot better, and can make games wild if you have a big screen.

i have a computer used strictly for emulation of video game platforms and that is using an all in wonder radeon to connect to the TV... works well but too blurry to play red alert 2 or most other PC games for that matter. But for SNES emulation... it is great!

The once in a while anime vcd to TV but other than that, the upgrade may not be worth it just for TV out. I always had a tv out function on all my video cards but I used it less than 1% of the time. I would save your money and wait for the Geforce3 Ti 200 to get just alittle cheaper then pick that up if your video card is fine for you now.
