What do you guys use to create your divx files?

I just made one (my first) but it won't play. I used smart ripper to rip it, and then flaskmpeg to convert to divx. Everything appeared to go fine until I tried to play it and it wouldn't work. It causes an application error in whatever program I try to run it in. Something about something being divided zero. I followed this guide, btw.

So what programs do you guys use?

What file type are you ripping it to? It says on vcdhelp.com that mpeg-2 is not a file type that virtualdub can convert from, and that's all I've done.
