So I just got a copy of TRL and I got around to installing it this morning, it looks absolutely beautiful. But now I need a recommendation on a controller to play it with. What are you guys using?

I've always liked the design of the Xbox controller (well, starting with the S one). I used that with an adapter for a while but have a wired 360 controller now. Quite a few games have native support for it these days, if not there are drivers that provide full customization. The rumble is nice too.

I especially like the analog triggers, making it a must if you are going to play any racing game with a controller. The D-pad however is not as good, so if you mostly will use that, go with a PS2-style controller, which Logitech and many others make.

If anyone wants a wired 360 controller for their PC, don't bother with the PC one for $5 more, since you just get the drivers online (only difference is a driver cd in the PC marked package).

I use one. It's the best. I suggest XBCD drivers in XP (unless MS finally added dead zone settings in XP). Vista it's plug and play, nothing more needed.

Many games auto detect the 360 controller and map the controls for you.

Wired 360 controller for me too. I use a Playstation 2 controller with a USB to Playstation 2 plug adapter when needed too. I use the Playstation 2 gamepad for mainly retro games. Many newer games have in-box support for the 360 controller too.

Logitech p880, which I really liked, but after a couple years of use now the analogue joysticks are pretty unresponsive, so am looking at getting a wired 360 controller.

PS2 controller with a usb adapter. I'm probably going to pick up an Xbox 360 one here pretty soon, but the PS2 controller works quite well.

I used the Logitech RumblePad 2 with TR:Legend and found it worked quite well.

Modded Atari 2600 controller... just doesn't work so well if you need more than 1 button.

I concur. However the bang for the buck IMO would go to the Logitech DA if you don't need rumble and RP2 if you do.
