Check out the drive i just bought. Maybe my prices aren't super, but I like 'em
Quantum Atlas 10K II "Typhoon", 18.4 GB, Ultra160 Wide LVD SCSI-3, 10,000 RPM, 4.7 ms seek, 8 MB cache, A/V Rated, 3.5" LP, 68 pin interface, 5-year warranty.
all for $229
Quantum IIs cream the competition, and yes I know, THe x15 beats it. Still Quantums access time whoops IBMs out of the water with about a 7ms access time (latency include) IBMs are about 9ms. It gets 25MBps on the inner egde, and about 45o n the outer edge. Still faster than the rest.
what do you think...?
i got an adaptec ultra 160 single channel to go with it.
I alsoam buing a vid card. I bought a radeon but the order didn't go through , so i have another chance. What is the best for hte cheapest.
Asus 7100 Gefore2mx400Deluxe combo
Asus 7700 Gefore2 GTS plus dazlle card
or
ATI Radeon
My Goal is to do well in games(Not too much speed is needed)
and be able to record video at a high quality. I heard het ATI is the best for 2d so i'm aiming for tht becasue it is cheaper.
Opinions for both topics welcome
