Since your getting a new cpu mobo and ram, any reason why you havent considered conroe? Its superior. If you wish to know why just google it, or look at benchmarks vs everything A64 and P4, it crush's both.

I have never delt with intel before. I have only had AMD to date, so is the setup different or is it pretty much the same to assemble?

Just as I though Screwegg is a bunch of morons...It is 2.2ghz....Retards

If you get a 3800+ and the 97.00 board that is a good deal....

The guys above are a bit off....You wont touch a conroe board 975x or 965p chipset board for under 140ish.....Plus who knows if you can get a 6300 for under 225 shipped....so sometimes ppl are not thinking about price here...

If price is tight then stick with the 3800+ and the stuff you have...otherwise go conroe

To the OP, it's actually called Core2Duo, Conroe is the 'code' name used before it was officially launched. ;)

So if you wanna search for it online better to use the official name.

Duvie,

Yeah, at this point in time there are no cheap (sub $100) Conroe boards worth buying, it's all slow Asrock crap.

Though I have to say the Gigabyte DS3 is pretty decent, though perhaps a bit expensive for it's feature set.

More expensive? Than what? A hamburger? What nonsensical post is that?

I agree even if it is marginally more expensive, what cpus are you comparing?? An E6600 was about even or better then the FX62...I would imagine an E6300 would beat a 4200+ or 4400+ and they would be similarly priced...

More expensive than the parts he listed...

The idiocy on this board is astounding seriously

I guess because I have much better things to do with my money than spend it on PC parts I'm not "cool".

You make absolutely no sense...just a few posts above you said Conroe WAS EXPENSIVE. Now you act like a Intel fanboy...which is it?

I am sorry you are slow to comprehend....I was saying if he is building a budget system then what he picked would be hard to beat for price right now....Conroe boards are expensive...the chips are not necessarily expensive but I meant they are hard to find, buy, etc....

I will own a Core 2 duo box in the coming weeks (my E6600 may arrive the 8th), and I have 2 quad AMD opteron boxes...I dont think I am any fanboy...Plus my laptop is a Dothan!!

The question i asked was, if all the hardware i picked out would be compatable? Mainly is the memory good with that system? The timings and all that good stuff?

Im pretty to new to this stuff

I see its hard to get a straight answer these days without getting into a conroe vs X2 debate :disgust:

Short answer is yes, it will work, buy it.
