College basketball and football (which ironically those are my two least favorite sports) seem to be the most popular college sports. now i live in NYC and i have NEVER had any interest in college sports and my friends and fellow NYCers who like college sports like them because "the athletes are fighting for something...theyre not rich arrogant ashholes... etc." but i always wondered if a good amount of people watch and follow college sports because they dont have a pro team that they can relate to or root which is geographically close so these teams are their local teams.... like cities like portland, oregon (football), Salt Lake City (Football as well), and small towns like in the dakotas, etc. just wondering what you people think.
