Why not AMD, you think that if you mess your system up the Intel CPU is going to fix it? The AMD CPU is not only as compatiable, it is also faster, so going with Intel when you want more stability and performance, well, that is just plain stupid.
And i ask again, why not SCSI, if he wants speed, and money is no object, then get him 10 Seagate cheetah X15 drives, RAID5 setup with a dual channel RAID adapter, 5 on each channel. If you want the best perfomance you can get and got the money to spend such a setup would be the most reliable and definently better than some lousy old IDE disks (lousy compared to the SCSI disks i mentioned).
